KHAMPOS (the "Platform") is a product of Khampos (the "Company," "we," "us," or "our"). We help creators build communities, sell courses and digital products, run memberships, and get paid directly, all from one place. We care about your privacy and want to be upfront about what we collect, how we use it, and who we share it with. By using KHAMPOS, you agree to the collection, use, and sharing of your data as explained in this Policy. This document is one of seven policies that together govern use of KHAMPOS: Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Acceptable Use Policy, Transaction Terms, Support Center, and Contact Us. They should be read together.
Information You Give Us
When you create an account, we ask for basics like your name, email address, and username. If you set up a community as a creator, we also collect profile details like a bio, photo, and social links.
We do not collect or store your full bank account or card details ourselves. When you connect a payout method, such as a bank account, Stripe, or Paystack, to receive earnings, you provide those details directly to Stripe or Paystack, not to KHAMPOS. They handle verification and hold that information under their own security standards.
Information We Collect As You Use KHAMPOS
As you navigate KHAMPOS, we and our third-party providers may collect information such as the pages you visit, the features you use, device and browser information, your operating system, and how you interact with the Platform.
Payments: when a transaction happens on KHAMPOS, such as a membership, course, or digital product purchase, our payment partners, Stripe or Paystack, process it directly. We may receive limited information about the transaction itself, such as the amount, timestamp, and status, but not full card numbers. For recurring subscriptions, we may see things like the card type, last four digits, and a token representing the payment method, as shared with us by the payment provider.
We may occasionally invite you to take part in surveys, where we might ask for extra information to help us improve the Platform and make it work better for a wider range of creators and members.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Verify your identity and help prevent fraud;
- Improve your experience on KHAMPOS;
- Show you relevant communities, courses, or creators;
- Support the payment and payout process, even though the money itself moves directly through Stripe or Paystack;
- Understand how people use KHAMPOS so we can make it better;
- Send you updates, notifications, and service communications, including by email;
- Maintain, protect, and improve the Platform overall.
How We Share Your Information
With Creators
When you join a community, buy a course, or subscribe to a membership, we share basic information with that creator, like your display name and email address, so they can manage their community and deliver what you paid for.
With Third Parties
We never sell your data. We share it only with service providers who help us run KHAMPOS, for things like analytics, payment processing, hosting, email delivery, and consent management. Stripe and Paystack, specifically, handle your payment details directly; we don't see or store your full card or bank information. These providers are required to keep your data secure. We use Termly as our consent management provider. Termly records and stores your cookie consent preferences on our behalf so that we can honour your choices.
If KHAMPOS is ever involved in a merger, acquisition, or similar business transaction, your information may be shared with the relevant partners as part of that process.
We may also share information where reasonably required to comply with the law, legal process, or a government request, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the Platform.
Cookie Consent
When you visit KHAMPOS, our consent management platform records your cookie preferences and stores them in your browser so we can apply your choices on future visits. Non-essential cookies and tracking technologies are blocked until you provide consent. You can change your preferences at any time through our cookie settings. Data Security & Retention
We take reasonable, industry-standard steps to protect your personal information. If you want to report a creator, community, or piece of content that concerns you, our support and trust & safety teams will look into it.
No method of storing or transmitting data over the internet is 100% secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security. If a data breach happens that affects you, we'll notify you promptly.
We keep your personal information only for as long as we're providing the Platform to you. If you delete your account (you can email us to request this), we keep only what's necessary to meet legal obligations or to detect and prevent fraud, and only for as long as the law requires.
Third-Party Links
KHAMPOS doesn't review or moderate every external link shared on the Platform. If you click a link to another site, you're leaving KHAMPOS, and we can't guarantee that site is safe or free from things like phishing.
Children's Privacy
KHAMPOS is not directed at children under 16, and children under 16 may not create or operate an account on any KHAMPOS product. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we'll take appropriate action.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. If a change meaningfully affects your rights under this Policy, we'll let you know with an in-app notification. You can always check the date at the top of this document to see when it was last updated.
